Early Sunday, December 4, 2011, we welcomed our second baby boy into the world. Little Oliver Cole, Ollie, was born at 4:32 am in Glenwood Springs at Valley View Hospital. We had a great birth, if there really is such a thing, that was extremely fast and went as smoothly as possible. He was born at 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 20.5 inches long. While he was not a huge baby, he was about 1 inch longer and about 1.5 lbs heavier than Liam, the midwives were expecting a 6 pounder.
My contractions started around midnight on Sunday morning. Kyle had literally just got in bed when they started. They were 7 minutes apart and strong enough to wake me up. After I couldn't lay there any longer and a call to the midwife was overdue I left the bed and retreated to the living room, where Kyle found me and realized we would be leaving shortly. We made a few calls to have a friend sleep over with Liam and pick up another friend for the drive down. During the drive down the contractions had stayed pretty steady but they were definately getting closer together and longer. We checked into the hospital at 2:45 am, at which point there was no turning back and we were clearly going to have this baby. After getting settled into the room my contractions got much stronger and closer together instantly. Before I knew the midwife had broke my water and shortly after Little Ollie was born.
We spent a few "restful" days in the hospital, had tons of visitors and was shortly sent home to be with our family. Liam is excited to have his little brother here, but just doesn't understand why he won't eat Cheerios, Goldfish or grapes. As for life with two little Thomsons, it is A Beautiful Life, and I can only imagine how much better it will get.
Kyle and I at the hospital, our last picture before Little Ollie was born. This was between contractions that were basically one-ontop-of-another, so that is why I don't look to pleased. Also it is sometime between 3-4 am.
Ollie after he is all cleaned up and ready to be shown off!

I couldn't ask for anything better, what a special moment for our family.
